About BAHPS

Baltic Association of the History and Philosophy of Science (BAHPS) is an ‘umbrella organisation’ uniting the national associations of the history of philosophy of science of three Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It was founded in Riga in 1990.

Baltic Association of the History and Philosophy of Science cooperates with the institutions studying the history and philosophy of science in other European countries, especially those from the countries of Baltic Rim. The main task of the Baltic Association of the History and Philosophy of Science is the organisation of the international Baltic conferences of the history and philosophy of science in every 2 or 3 years in one of the Baltic states respectively. The conferences have long history of more than 50 years.

The presidency of the Baltic Association of the History and Philosophy of Science for the period of 2012-2014 under the presidency of the Lithuanian Association of the History and Philosophy of Science (President of the Lithuanian Association Prof Juozas Algimantas Krikðtopaitis).

Since the end of the 30th Baltic Conference on the History and Philosophy of Science in Oulu Peeter Müürsepp, the Chairperson of the Estonian Association assumed presidency of BAHPS until the next conference in Tartu in 2024.
